Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh disclosed the plan of Kuwaiti government to establish a national leadership school, in collaboration with France, for enhancing training and governance activities.

KUWAIT CITY, March 27: The minister said this recently at the residence of French Ambassador to Kuwait Christian Nakhla who honored her with the “Order of Garter” (The Knight). She affirmed that the ministry has resolved the problem related to non-payment of salaries to workers of a cleaning company by liquidating the company’s guarantee to pay the workers, adding that the company’s file has been suspended.

Al-Sabeeh explained that the ministry coordinated with the Indian Embassy to implement legal means for facilitating the salary payment and stood firm against the company.

All companies and government agencies that have cleaning contracts with the company were contacted to convert amounts payable to the company for payment of two-month salaries owing the workers. She assured that the ministry will ensure the image of Kuwait is protected by giving everybody their rights, stressing that the need to be humanitarian conscious is of significance to the ministry.

The minister affirmed that coordination with Indian Embassy will continue whereby the embassy will notify the ministry at the start of every month if workers are not paid salaries for the previous month.
