Rain to continue in Kuwait

The Kuwait Meteorology Department raised a 'Thunder Rain' warning for the coming 12 hours with scattered rain that might be thundery at times with south easterly wind that might exceeds 50 km/h over some areas
The New Weather Alert System
Kuwait meteorological department would like to announce that new alerts system has been developed. The new alerts system will be in two stages described in details below. The new alerts system will also provides additional information such as severity, certainty and urgency which is based on CAP or 'Common Alerting Protocol' with new icons for each common weather event in Kuwait.
- Stage One - Weather Watch
The weather watches alerts viewers that conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather. The issue time will be up to 24 hours before expected events.
- Stage Two - Weather Warning
A weather warning means that severe weather is occurring, imminent, or likely in the location indicated and is a threat to life and property. The issue time will be up to 6 hours before severe weather events.
Common Alerts Protocol Definitions
Urgency: The code denoting the urgency of the subject event of the alert message
Immediate: Responsive action SHOULD be taken immediately.
Expected: Responsive action SHOULD be taken soon (within next hour).
Future: Responsive action SHOULD be taken in the near future.
Severity: The code denoting the severity of the subject event of the alert message
Extreme: Extraordinary threat to life or property.
Severe: Significant threat to life or property.
Moderate: Possible threat to life or property.
Certainty: The code denoting the certainty of the subject event of the alert message
Observed: Determined to have occurred or to be ongoing.
Likely: Likely (probability greater than 50%).
Possible: Possible but not likely (probability less than/equal to 50%).
Unlikely: Not expected to occur (probability equals to 0%).
